What is Slugging Percentage?

Slugging Percentage = (Singles + Doubles x 2 + Triples x 3 + Home Runs x 4) / At-Bats

Slugging percentage (SLG) measures a player's hitting power by weighing doubles (2x), triples (3x) and home runs (4x) more than singles.

The Major League Baseball single-season record for slugging percentage is 0.863 by Barry Bonds in 2001. He had 476 at-bats, 49 singles, 32 doubles, 2 triples, and 73 home runs.
